Jal Jeevan Mission (JJM) is an ambitious initiative by the Government of India to ensure that every rural household has access to safe and adequate drinking water through individual tap connections by 2024. The mission emphasizes community participation, sustainability, and convergence with other water-related programs. By focusing on source sustainability, robust water infrastructure, quality monitoring, and leveraging technology, JJM aims to create a resilient and efficient water supply system across rural India. Through a combination of government funding and community contributions, the mission seeks to foster a sense of ownership and ensure long-term sustainability of water resources.
